A 64-year old Ahmadī man, Hameed Ahmad, is murdered in Pakistan today due to his faith, it is reported.
Ahmad was shot in the head outside his house in the town of Attock in the Punjab province.
According to the reports, as Ahmad was about to enter his home, someone shot him at a close range. He died on the spot.
Reports further say Ahmad was previously victimized also a few years ago when someone tried to set his clinic on fire. The attempt was unsuccessful and arrests were made. However no legal proceedings took place thereafter.
Ahmad leaves behind 2 sons and 3 daughters. His wife had died few years ago.
Ahmad is the second Ahmadi targeted for his faith in last 10 days.
Ahmadiyya spokesperson in Pakistan, Saleemud Din slammed government’s inaction in the face of widespread hate speech against Ahmadis. “The Govt knows where this stems from but prefers to turn a blind eye.”
'Until this monster of hate speech, literature and hate mongers is crushed and discriminatory laws changed, things are going to get worse,' Din warned the authorities through social media.
Din said after their repeated calls on government, nothing has been done regarding the hate speech, literature and hate conferences.
“Ahmadis continue to pay with blood,” Din added.
