Hundreds in the Ahmadiyya Muslim community are trying to support a Calgary family whose 11-year-old son disappeared on the weekend.
Behzad Ahmad fell into the Yoho River in Yoho National Park on Friday evening.
Sultan Mahmood, a close family friend, says relatives tried to rescue him, but the boy was dragged downstream.
Mahmood says hundreds of members of their mosque have been offering support to the family but they're limiting visitors for now.
The family is still waiting for an update from Parks Canada and the RCMP in British Columbia.
[Update:] "Parks Canada has scaled back the "recovery operation," the agency said in a release late Sunday, adding that, they "will continue to regularly monitor the area in the coming weeks as water levels change with the objective of successfully locating the boy."
